Awesome news gamers!
Dark Tavern Press is taking their game to the people… literally. Through a special arrangement with Central Florida comic book chain, Coliseum of Comics , we will be hosting a bi-weekly Shroud of the Ancients fantasy/adventure campaign at the brand new Kissimmee location (3159 W Vine St.). This will be an on-going “home” campaign using the D5RPG Rules set. While our main goal is to have fun and work out any minor kinks, we will also be play testing new material as we move forward towards publication of the Adventurer’s Guide to Terrath.
With this in mind, we are looking for a few more players with varying degrees of experience who will help us develop our game by simply getting together and playing. If you have played with us at MegaCon … great! If you haven’t and you’ve never played the D5RPG system, that’s fine too. Our main goal is to have 5-8 players who will show up consistently for these Nights at the Coliseum. With that in mind, we have also created a page on the Warhorn gaming event website in the Recurring Game Days section so that players can “check in” in advance and confirm attendance. That way we can plan ahead for each session. We are looking forward to starting Nights at the Coliseum on June 18th at 6:30 pm.
If you are interested in joining, please send us an email at contact@sotarpg.com

The Beginning
Rich and I went down to MegaCon this past weekend to run a few games and meet some people. Here’s what happened, according to me:
Thursday we drove down, got there early, checked in and all that. MegaCon isn’t set up to let people get badges or the like on Thursday, so we hit the strip for food and came back to our hotel for gaming. We were sharing a room with Jarad, and he and I talked Rich into running Dogs in the Vineyard.
I’m really glad we did. I’ve played and run DitV enough to know what kind of game I wanted, and I got it. Rich did a great job running the NPCs and the town, and Jarad brought an awesome character to the table, on that my character could oppose, agree with, fight along-side, and ignore over the course of an adventure. I even pushed conflicts with his character a few times, if only to get the dice rolling and see if we could change each others’ mind about a few things. » Read more…

Greetings,
We’re a group of gamers in the Tampa Bay area. Although our main emphasis is on historical miniatures, all gamers and games are welcome. We’ve been putting on Game Days since November of 2008. We average three a year. They are day long events that have been held at the University of Tampa Library but due the response we’ve gotten, it looks like we will be moving to a larger facility. Our next Game Day is scheduled for the 15th of May. It’s our second annual Armed Forces Day Spring Breakthrough. Our events are open to the public and are free. That’s right, there is no admission charge to get in nor is there any kind of charge for playing in a game. Just show up and be ready to have a good time.

Just wanted to extend a nice welcome to the Twitter-sphere to Sunshine Adventure Gaming, in Miami, FL. Find them as @SunshineGaming. In my opinion there are not enough Florida game stores represented on Twitter, let alone taking full advantage of the connectivity this medium affords them with their current and potential fans, so it is good to encourage those who take the plunge. Hopefully others will join in as well.
Just remember, stores, that Twitter is all about communication. Let us know about your in-store games and events, and also of your sales, but also engage with people, follow people and talk, talk, talk. We already have your website for a one-way communication of information; we want to connect.
For the record, in South Florida we also have Adventure Game Store (@AdvGameStore), and in central Florida there is 2d10 Games (@2d10Games).

MegaCon is right around the corner, March 12-14 in Orlando, FL, and while the convention gaming scene there is always strong in the organized play arena, there is a group of Florida gamers planning to unleash some independent, small-press gaming mayhem on the unsuspecting gamer masses.
Games being mentioned as possibilities include Dogs in the Vineyard, Don’t Rest Your Head, My Life With Master, Kagematsu and The Mountain Witch among many others.
If this is something you are interested to know more/excited about, leave a note in the comments. We’ll use this post as a central discussion thread for ideas and organization of games (even if they don’t make it into the official event schedule for the con).
